Michael Turpenoff grew up in the Midwestern U.S. as part of the Hungarian and Macedonian emigre communities. He holds graduate degrees in both studio art and research psychology, providing a distinct artistic perspective and technical approach. Galleries across the U.S. have exhibited his work, and it is included in both private and public collections.

Through the ages, increasing knowledge and scientific discoveries informed art and offered new artistic strategies. In the 21st century, as before, art can employ radical, new approaches and assume exciting, new forms to effectively convey ideas, information and concepts to viewers. As Henri Matisse, August Rodin and many others have said, art is communication. My work combines intense color, contrast, dynamism and new ways of depicting light and space to communicate.
